It was nine till nine racing as 4 brand new cars were taken out of their boxes and “run in” for a grand total of 12,210 laps of the magnificent Bolwextric indoor circuit.
The challenge was held in support of the Fluorescence Enhanced Neurosurgery Appeal and 4 teams took up controllers, they were:
• PITSTOP PANSIES • NUMPTY • RAS RACING • OUTLAWS •
When the 12 hours were up it was TEAM NUMPTY that took top honours, they won with most laps and the least penalties, with a lap average of 12.37 seconds. The Numpties also set the fastest lap of the day, 11.46 seconds.
Most number of laps per 55 minute session was set by Tony in the last hour with his car failing he managed 277, or 12 second lap average.
One session was held in the dark run using the cars own headlights, an unseen tragedy occurred during this period when one of the model trains became derailed, Jim suggested this was due to a landslip.
